EMPIRE is a constructed photographic and installation-style moving-image project that examines how power continuously reproduces itself through cycles of labour, extraction and belief. A circular rail encloses the wheat field, turning the scene into a diagram of a closed system: agrarian life is surrounded and managed by the machinery of industrial society, and repeatedly drawn into the same cycle. Through this field, the work reflects on how exploitation, repetition and compliance continue to be produced.
